Sharing Anyway feels as healing as writing it — every time someone connects with the song, it reminds me we really will get where we’re supposed to be.

Jodie Austen

Anyway is Jodie Austen’s debut single. It's a soulful folk-pop anthem about trust, resilience, and the courage to keep moving forward. Written in the wake of heartbreak, the song captures the moment Jodie chose to trust that life’s twists and turns would still lead her where she was meant to go.

Produced by Ed Graves at Rainbow Wood Records, Anyway weaves tender acoustic textures with Jodie’s emotive vocals, creating a track that feels both intimate and empowering. The chorus, “we’ll get where we’re supposed to be… anyway”, has quickly become a mantra for listeners seeking hope through change.

Since its release, Anyway has been aired on BBC Introducing and celebrated for its heartfelt lyricism and warmth. It marks the first chapter of Jodie’s growing creative universe, one that blends music, art, and storytelling to help others feel seen, held, and inspired on their own journey.

ABOUT

Jodie Austen is a soulful folk-pop singer-songwriter and visual artist whose music turns pain into poetry. Singing has always been her way through; even when it wasn’t encouraged, her voice stayed with her, waiting for the moment she would need it most.

After building a career as a hairdresser and travelling the world, Jodie returned to music as a lifeline. What started as quiet moments of singing grew into sharing songs at open mics, busking city squares, running community music nights, and playing beloved grassroots festivals. Her performances have taken her to unique stages including The Roman Baths, and she became the first musician live-streamed from Meta Condense Studios in Bristol.

Her debut single “Anyway” — aired on BBC Introducing — is an anthem of trust and resilience, written during a period of deep change. Its refrain, “we’ll get where we’re supposed to be… anyway,” has resonated with listeners and become a steady companion for many.

Now based in Somerset, Jodie is writing and recording her debut album surrounded by the landscapes that inspire her work. Beyond music, she is creating a whole universe: hand-painted jackets, embroidery, and lyric-inspired art that allow listeners to carry the songs with them.

Guided by nature and a belief in the healing power of creativity, Jodie writes for the brave-hearted and the tender, offering her music as a place to breathe, trust, and come home to yourself.
